  • Collection of vintage tableware, 2018 : Régis Perray “Le café fleuri”

The Café Fleuri offers a dining area with ‘flowery’ tableware collected by artist Régis Perray, as an extension of his work ‘Le Jardin Fleuri’ (The Flower Garden), which made a lasting impression when it was presented in 2016 in the nuns’ hall of Maubuisson Abbey. For this installation, the artist collected plates, scoured flea markets and charity sales in an obsessive quest to gather the 9,000 flower-decorated plates needed for the exhibition. Arranged and assembled on the floor by Régis Perray, these plates formed a structured and orderly French garden. The floral motif was the common thread running through the exhibition, both as a decorative element and as a reference to the feminine world, paying tribute to the former occupants of this prestigious Cistercian royal abbey.
